Accomodation - The room reservation form (if you do not want to take care of accommodation yourself) has to be sent as a letter or a fax to the European Forum Alpbach as soon as possible.

We will forward the collected room reservation forms to Ms Angelika Lederer at Alpbach Tourism GmbH who is available for questions concerning accommodation.

Banks - There are two banks in Alpbach: Sparkasse and Raiffeisenkasse, which besides business units, also have ATMs.

Information - for information on Forum, as well as daily events, make sure you follow the official boards at the Congress Center.

Internet Café - Internet is available in Hauptschule, in a room equipped with 20 computers. Working hours: every day from 09:00h - 18:00h.

Post office - In SPAR supermakret, at the main street. Working hours from Mon til Fri 07:00 - 12:00h and from 14:00 - 18:00h. Sunday - Closed.

Registration at EFA - In accordance with Austrian police regulations, you have to fill in a registration form, which you will obtain from your landlord. Your landlord will also issue your visitor's card which entitles you to use the indoor swimming pool, the cable railway, etc. at reduced rates.

Simultaneous Translation - The plenary meetings, which take place in the “Schrödinger Saal” on the first floor of the Congress Centre, are translated simultaneously into German and English. Earphones and receivers are available at the entrance of the “Schrödinger Saal” – please return them after the plenary meetings.

Please pay attention: Events that do not place in the “Schrödinger Saal” are held in German OR English and are not translated.

Standing Committee - The Standing Committee is a student organisation which assists scholarship holders in practical matters in Alpbach. The Standing Committee will also organise excursions, sports events and clubbings. Please find further information on the information board in the entrance hall.

The Committee will be introduced during the official welcome ceremony for all scholarship holders in the Alpbach Congress Centre on 12 August at 04:00 p.m. and will inform you about its events.

Venue - The entire program is done in the Congress Center and other locations, depending the program. Seminars are held in Hauptschule, which is close to the Congress Center.

Weather and Climate - Alpbach is a mountain village where the weather is very changeable even in the summer. There is no certain dress code, but don´t forget to bring warm clothes and especially weather-resistant footwear with you. Please bear in mind that in Alpbach streets are steep, so flat-heeled shoes are advisable.
